As woodworking equipment and skills are considered 'common' enough, focusing on electronics (what others claim lacking) should be smart (organizational competition timeframe pillar). Prototyping, small-scale manufacturing, PCBs, etc. A pick and place machine might prove an excuse of 'good value' towards justifying a membership.
